Where / How was Cornhole Invented
Cornhole is becoming more and more popular as a game in the United States. It’s a family friendly game that’s
safe to play and easy to transport. As the popularity of the game grows many people wonder where / how was
cornhole invented.
There is a couple different beliefs for where was Cornhole invented. Some people claim that Cornhole was first
invented in Germany during the 1500s. However, other people claim that the game was actually invented in or near
Cincinnati, Ohio. This belief is probably born from the fact that the game of Cornhole is probably most popular in
Cincinnati. Who is right isn’t known but what is known is that the game began to take hold over 100 years ago in
Kentucky and Ohio.
So the next thing to consider is how was Cornhole invented. Again, this isn’t known for certain but it’s thought
to be tied back to people centuries and centuries ago who played games in which they were required to try to throw
stones into holes. The similarities between this and Cornhole are obvious but still it isn’t known for sure when or
how the game went from using stones to using bags of corn.
Where / How was Cornhole invented is a question that can’t be answered to any degree of certainty.
However, there are some people who think the game comes from an ancient game that required players to throw stones
into holes. Also, some people believe the game originated in Germany about 500 years ago while others believe it
started in Cincinnati much later.
